STRATEGY

I was an entrepreneur at a young age. Before hitting 8th grade, I was the kid who would shovel sidewalks during snow storms, create lemonade stands during the summer, and sell candy during class. At 19, I started my first company selling custom built personal computers. I knew I wanted to follow my dreams and chart my own course, but I grew up in a risk-averse middle class immigrant family that wanted me to go to college and find a stable job. Needless to say, I did both – followed my dreams, while fulfilling the commandments of family.

But entrepreneurship has been natural for me, even though both my parents were both full time teachers who preached typical immigrant values of “work hard, go to school, get good grades, and find a “good” job.” I respect and value education, but I had to follow a hunger for a different kind of life, and I figured it out a path for myself.

I learned in the most direct way possible that no one was promised a chance at tomorrow. To fully contribute my talents to this world, I knew I had to take a path less traveled that would allow me to the time and resources to scale. This lesson was driven to the heart of me, and it drives every moment of what I want to accomplish in life. I wasn’t going to wait to receive permission to live the life I wanted to; I couldn’t afford to wait. None of us can.

I am clear on who am and what I want to do and see. Right now I am focused in on growing my media and marketing company, WPL Marketing, to over 1 million dollars. Follow my journey!
